Objectives
Antenatal vaccination is an important aspect of obstetric care with guidelines shaped by ACOG and CDC. As of 2012, ACIP guidelines changed to include both Tdap and Influenza vaccines during each pregnancy regardless of prior vaccine status. We sought to determine compliance with ACIP guidelines and compare administration for each vaccine among women receiving prenatal care at our institution during the three consecutive years following ACIP guideline change.
Methods
In this single-center, retrospective review, ICD-9 billing codes were used to compare influenza and Tdap vaccine administration for each woman between her pregnancy registration visit and her delivery. Records were analyzed for all women receiving prenatal care at our institution during the consecutive years of study from January 1 to December 31 of 2012, 2013, and 2014. Data were analyzed with chi-square, t-test, and Poisson distributions.
