24: Global diversity in vaccine acceptance during pregnancy

Objectives

Lack of global information regarding attitudes and behaviors of pregnant women towards vaccines is a concern due to suboptimal vaccination coverage despite implementation of vaccine related initiatives. We sought to study the acceptability of influenza (I), pertussis (P) and a hypothetical Group B Streptococcus (GBS) vaccine during pregnancy from a global perspective.

Methods

Data were abstracted from responses of 782 women at 12 to 40 weeks of gestation from North America (NA), Europe (EU) and Brazil (BZ) to an industry sponsored online survey in 2014. Participants were provided brief disease and vaccine synopses prior to completing the survey. Descriptive statistical and regression analysis were performed, with significance at p<0.05.
