18: Differences in patterns of extragenital chlamydia and gonorrhea in men and women




Objectives


Screening for Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC) in men who have sex with men (MSM) is based on risk and includes testing of extragenital sites. Despite the frequency of oral and anal intercourse (AI) in women, there are currently no recommendations for extragenital screening. The objective of this study was to evaluate the number of extragenital GC and CT infections and the proportion of people who would remain undiagnosed if extragenital testing was not performed.
