We appreciate and agree with the comments of the authors of the letter to the editor. In addition to being the most cost-effective type of hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy is clinically the best type of hysterectomy for appropriate candidates. An emphasis on the vaginal route for hysterectomies is especially important in teaching hospitals.
