The aim of our article was not to review in depth the management of a ring pessary incarceration but rather to inform gynecologists that this complication could happen. In the current case, this elderly woman was treated in a gynecologist’s office and did not undergo systemic anesthesia. We do not agree that resection of the ring pessary with a cold knife was dangerous for our patient; this procedure was likely a quicker, more efficient one than using topical magnesium sulphate or estrogen.
