An error appeared in Table 4 (“Test characteristics of the SIRS and MEWS”) of a research article published in the December 2010 issue of the Journal (Lappen JR, Keene M, Lore M, Grobman WA, Gossett DR. Existing models fail to predict sepsis in an obstetric population with intrauterine infection. Am J Obstet Gynecol 2010;203:573.e1-5).


For Modified Early Warning System (MEWS) scores ≥5, the positive predictive value of (PPV) fraction (0.054) was mistakenly published as 0.05%. The correct PPV is 5.4%. The same error appeared in the body of the paper (page 573.e3, column 2, last line). This error does not affect the conclusions of the study.
