ETIOLOGY AND PATHOGENESIS
Causes: Uterine (pregnancy, endometrial polyps, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial carcinoma, leiomyomata), cervical (polyps, cervicitis, cervical erosion, cervical dysplasia/neoplasia), vaginal (trauma, infection, atrophy), perineal (vulvar lesions, hemorrhoids).
